The garden is the living room
The outdoor area gives the Hacienda its character: lots of seating, large tables, shade, rustic details and a fully equipped shared summer kitchen. It is a comfortable place to cook, eat and spend long evenings outside.

Varvara: coast, coves and Strandzha
Varvara lies between Tsarevo and Ahtopol on Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast. The village combines a small beach and restaurants with rocky coves, coastal paths and the nearby Strandzha landscape.

A small, relaxed beach right by Varvara – good for an easy swimming day without leaving the village.

Coves, reefs and clear-water swimming places give the coast around Varvara a wilder character than the large resort beaches.

Forest paths and quiet walking routes begin close to the coast and offer a different side of the region.
Things to do around Varvara
Hacienda Shopa is first of all a place to slow down and enjoy the garden. Varvara is also an excellent base for swimming, coastal walks and a few memorable day trips.
Varvara village beach & local life
Swim at the village beach, stop at Wake Up by the beach, try one of Varvara’s many restaurants or simply walk along the coast.
Dardalelli & “Canale Grande”
The striking rocky coast at Dardalelli is a fine local walk. Between the rocks is a more sheltered swimming place locally known as “Canale Grande”; swim there when sea conditions are suitable.
Walks around Varvara & Strandzha
Shorter coastal walks and forest paths in Strandzha start close to Varvara. Longer walks are usually more pleasant on cloudy or cooler days than in strong summer sun.
Rezovo → Sinemorets on foot
In season, an early minibus can take you to Rezovo. From there a relaxed coastal walk to Sinemorets takes about 5–6 hours; a fish soup makes a good finish before the seasonal bus back to Varvara.
Sinemorets, Veleka & Ahtopol
For an easier day, go to Sinemorets for swimming at the Veleka mouth; boat trips are offered in season. If you want another walk, the coast to Ahtopol takes roughly 2½ hours at a relaxed pace.
Ropotamo by boat
Farther north, the Ropotamo nature reserve makes a worthwhile day trip, especially for a boat ride through its wooded river landscape.
Bus and boat timetables are seasonal and should be checked locally. For longer coastal walks, take enough water and prefer cloudy or cooler weather over the hottest sunny hours.
